Founded in 1983, the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the training needs of Black hospitality professionals and those that advocate and believe in equality.

NCBMP seeks to be the preeminent organization in educating Black professionals and those that support equality in all aspects of the meeting planning industry such that, as a result, NCBMP members will be able to (a) maximise a greater return on the b2b opportunities for their respective organisations, (b) effect positive change in the hospitality industry as it relates to equal access to resources and empowerment tools , and (c) become a voice in the hospitality industry on issues that affect the Black professionals and inequality within other supporting communities.

Fun fact: Three of NCBMP’s founding members were CMPs and 40% of their current membership are CMPs or currently working towards certification.
