EIC Welcome Carolyn Banner

The Events Industry Council is thrilled to welcome Carolyn Patterson-Kemper, M.S., CMP, DES to the EIC Management Team as our new Director, CMP Certification Programme.

After living in Atlanta where she owned an event management company supporting the corporate, government and nonprofit sectors for 20 years, Carolyn returned home to the Washington, DC to area be closer to family.

A CMP since 2019, Carolyn served on the MPI Potomac Chapter Board of Directors and was awarded the 2024 Smart Meetings Smart Women Innovator Award. Before joining EIC, Carolyn was the Chevy Chase Trust, VP Head of Events and T. Rowe Price and continues to serve as an Adjunct Professor at San Diego State University’s L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality & Tourism Management in their Meetings and Events Master’s Programme.

In her free time, Carolyn serves on the Trustee Board of her church and enjoys dance, traveling and spending time with loved ones.

Carolyn assumes her role at a pivotal moment for the CMP Programme — shortly after the release of the new CMP International Standards and in anticipation of the updated exam.

We are excited to have her lead the CMP Progamme as it continues to grow globally.

During her first week in the new role, Carolyn shared a few thoughts with CMP Today.
